The volleyball weekend started with a bang on the Hi-Line as a wild year of District 6C-East action continued Thursday night in Chinook.

The top team in the 6C East has changed three times in the last three weeks, but after a dramatic comeback Thursday night in Chinook, North Star is assuming command of the district.

The Knights stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Chinook by scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-10, 25-19 and 15-5. Once North Star got rolling, there seemed to be little the Sugarbeeters could do to stop the Knights.

Lisa Carlon racked up 15 kills, eight aces and seven assists for the Knights in the amazing win. Melissa Pester also had a big match with six digs and four blocks for North Star. Chinook got a huge night from Makhayla Farmer, who had 13 kills, eight blocks and four aces.

The Beeters did manage to rebound on Saturday night with a straight-set win over Sunburst in a nonconference match.

Chinook defeated the Refiners by scores of 25-18, 25-5 and 25-19 and the Beeters did it in dominant fashion. Farmer led the way with 11 kills, six blocks and two aces, while Hannah Weber 18 assists and two aces and Paige Moxley had eight digs and a pair of aces.

North kept on rolling too, as the Knights beat the Valier Panthers in four sets in Gildford on Saturday night. The Knights won by scores of 21-25, 25-11, 25-12 and 25-18, again coming from behind.

Lisa Carlon had 10 kills and Bettie Carlon had 10 assists for the Knights, while Tylynn Rettig served up six aces.

The weekend was up and down for the Chester/J-I Hawks. The Hawks crushed the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds on Friday night, but fell to the Dutton-Brady Diamondbacks on Saturday.

    Dutton-Brady defeated the Hawks by scores of 25-22, 25-12, 19-25 and 25-11.

Kate Graff paced the Hawks with nine kills and four aces, while Brittnee Theel also had four aces and two blocks, and Jimi Sangwin added 15 assists and two aces in the nonconference loss.

At the Class B level, Rocky Boy dropped a pair of 1B matches over the weekend.

On Friday night, the Morning Stars lost to Conrad by scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-22, as Leigha Onco had kills, two aces and three blocks.

Then, on Saturday night, Rocky Boy was downed by the powerful Choteau Bulldogs by scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-6. The Morning Stars got three kills and three blocks from Tisha Big Knife in the losing effort.
