Under a sunny sky, the Rehberg for Senate bus drove into Havre Saturday morning for a rally at the 6th Avenue ball park.

Jan Rehberg, wife of Rep. Denny Rehberg, R-Mont,, who is hoping to unseat Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., in the Nov. 6 election, rallied local troops who fanned out in the community, going door to door for their candidates.

Havre was the 46th of 48 stops on the bus' Liberate Main Street tour.

The group started the day in Malta and moved from Havre to Big Sandy, Tester's hometown.

Jan Rehberg said she wasn't concerned about the reception they would get in Big Sandy.

"There are a lot of Republicans down there," she said.

The Liberate Main Street project was an answer to the Occupy Wall Street protests launched about a year ago, Jan Rehberg said.

"Denny said 'We really don't need that,'" she said. "We need to liberate Main Street."

"We can solve our problems right here," she said. "The present administration, with the help of Jon Tester, has a different view."

President Barack Obama's administration believes in a top-down approach to economic recovery, she said.

That has resulted in a massive federal debt.

"We are taking in $3 trillion and spending $4.5 trillion," she said.

"Jon Tester has voted with Barack Obama ... ,"

"... 95 percent of the time," the crowd yelled, finishing her sentence.

Armed with leaflets, bumper stickers and lawn signs, party faithful walked into adjoining neighborhoods.

State Rep. Kris Hansen, R-Havre, urged people to try to find people on 5th Avenue who would put GOP signs on their front yards.

The highly traveled street was a sea of Democratic signs, and she wanted to see a balance.

"Tell your friends we need their front lawns, just for a while," she said.
