It wasn't the ending to the regular season the Havre High football team was looking for. But the Blue Ponies are headed to the Class A playoffs anyways. Friday night in Livingston, the host Rangers clobbered the Ponies 64-32 in the final Central A Conference game of the season. Despite the loss, the Ponies still finished third in the Central A due to Belgrade's 27-14 win over Lewistown on Friday.
Havre fell behind the Rangers quickly as Livingston led 24-0 early on, then extended thier lead to 44-12 at halftime and the Ponies could never catch up. The win over Havre also clinched the Central A title for the Rangers, while Belgrade finished second.
HHS ends the regular season with a 2-2 record in conference play and 4-5 overall. The Ponies will travel to Laurel for the first round of the Class A playoffs next Saturday.
