M. BUDD TAYLOR
SHELBY M. Budd Taylor, 73, died Tuesday May 4, 1999, at a Shelby care center of natural causes.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Shelby. Graveside services with military honors will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Malta Cemetery.
Taylor was born July 1, 1925, at Malta, to Tillie (Lusby) and Fern Taylor. He graduated from high school in Malta, and later graduated from Kinman Business School in Spokane, Wash.
During WWII he served with the U.S. Marine Corp Reconnaissance Group. The unit was in the Pacific Theater from December of 1943 to October of 1945. He also served in the National Guards at Malta after leaving the Marines.
On Jan. 29, 1949, he married Betty Jean Blevins at Malta. He was employed for the Malta Auto Co. until 1952. Later he was a partner in the Malta Motor Co. until 1958. He then was employed for Big Flat Electric until 1959, and also managed the Coast to Coast store from 1959 to 1960.
The coupled moved to Havre in 1960, where he was employed at the Citizens Bank of Montana as Vice President and Director. He moved to Shelby in 1982, where he was employed for the First State Bank as Vice President until his retirement in 1990.
After his retirement he was employed part time for Town Pump as a Casino Clerk.
He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church, past Master of the Malta Masonic Lodge, life member of the VFW and American Legion, Algeria Temple Shrine, a Royal Arch Mason, Knight Templar and Cut Bank Council #11.
He enjoyed watching his grandchildrens sporting events, fishing, hunting, golf, wood working and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Betty, in 1998.
Survivors include a daughter, Roxanne Zetterberg of Polson; a son, Vince Taylor of Shelby; a brother, J. Harry Taylor of Malta; five grandchildren.

Whitted Funeral Chapel of Shelby is in charge of arrangements.
