Ninety-three VFW posts and 69 VFW auxiliaries will be represented by an estimated 350 delegates who will be attending the upcoming VFW State Convention to be held June 16-19 in Havre.

James Bertrand, state commander of the VFW, and Lucille Hobbs, VFW Auxiliary state commander, will preside over the four day convention, business meetings, and a broad array of social activities.

National Commander Tom Pauliot will be at the convention as a distinguished guest, and past National President Glenn Grossman will be here to address the Auxiliary.

Ceremonies opening the convention will be held Wednesday, June 16, and include flags and banners from around the state. Reports from state program chairmen and the accomplishments of the different posts will be recognized at this time.

Citations and awards will also be presented Wednesday.

A joint assembly of posts and auxiliaries will be held at the Havre Theaters and include introductions and speeches by distinguished guests at the Havre Theaters. A memorial service will follow.

A reception picnic will be hosted at the VFW Club Thursday by incoming State Commander Wade Smith and State Auxiliary President Edith Pawlowski.

A banquet is on the schedule for Friday evening at the VFW Club with dancing to follow.

Convention business is slated for Saturday with the election and installation of 1999-2000 officers. An awards luncheon will follow at noon at the VFW Club.
