ELDON BUD BECK
LEWISTOWN Eldon E. Bud Beck, 79, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at a Lewistown hospital of congestive heart failure.
A Memorial service will 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place.
Beck was born July 27, 1919, at Lewistown, to Elmer and Elsie (Andersen) Beck. He received his education at a country school on Castle Creek and in Lewistown, graduating from Fergus High School.
From Sept. 13, 1940, to April 30, 1944, he served in the United States Army. He served in the South Pacific from March 19, 1942, until Oct. 29, 1944.
On Oct. 20, 1946, he married Neta Norman at Lewistown. He was employed on the family farm and also at the State Fish Hatchery for 20 years until retiring in 1981. He lived on the family farm most of his life. The last eight years the couple has lived in Apache Junction, Ariz. during the winter.
Beck was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion, D.A.V., Elks Lodge No. 456, and the Eagles. He enjoyed traveling, refinishing furniture, and working with wood. He also enjoyed the outdoors and playing cribbage.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Wagner.
Survivors include his wife, Neta of Lewistown; a daughter, Neta Ann Olsen of Gildford; a son, Ray Peck of Montana City; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or to the Central Montana Medical Center-Cardiac Care Unit.
The Creel Funeral Home of Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
