MSU-Northern head coach Ray Peters has signed junior-year transfer Abby Hjorth to play for the Skylights this fall.
Hjorth played for two years at Salt Lake City Community College where she averaged 10 points, four rebounds and three assists per game.
Abby fills a position that we needed to fill because of graduation, Peters said. We needed somebody of her caliber to come in and fill some positions for us.
Hjorth is the daughter of Richard and Karla Hjorth. The 5-9 Hjorth will probably play a guard or shooting forward position for the Skylights.
Peters described Hjorth as a strong defensive player who will be able to handle both offensive and defensive ends of the game.
She was an attractive player, Peters said. Shes a complete player who can score in the open court, score off the dribble, play half-court ball and shoot the three.
