Harshman obituary

ARLENE HARSHMAN

CHINOOK Arlene A. Harshman, 71, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at her residence of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday in the United Methodist Church of Chinook. Burial will follow in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Harshman was born July 14, 1927, in Hendrum, Minn., to George and Anna Marie (Sorenson) Voje. She graduated from high school in Gary, Minn. and moved to Hogeland in 1946.

On Oct. 10, 1947, she married Maurice Harshman in Chinook. The couple resided in Chinook.

Harshman was active in the Methodist Church and served as a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. She was a member of the MYF, knitting club, and a 4-H leader. She enjoyed baking, sewing and preparing holiday meals. She and her husband were active in the Couples Club of Chinook.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice, of Chinook; daughters, Shiela Brubaker of Lakeville, Minn., Shelda Bermes of Missoula, Connie Bergen of Wolf Point, Kathy Harbolt of Chinook and Patti Hagteldg of Laurel; a son, Dan Harshman of Chinook; sisters, Audrey Anderson of Shelley, Minn. and Marvella Borstad of Crookston, Minn.; brothers, Norman Voje of Edmonton, Canada, Harold Voje of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Dan Voje of Ada, Minn. and George Voje of Moorehead, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Chinook United Methodist Church.
