CHESTER Anna (Paulson) Freeman, 87, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at a Fort Benton care center of natural causes.
Memorial services will be held 12 noon Sunday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Chester. Burial of ashes will follow at the Joplin Cemetery.
Freeman was born Dec. 28, 1911, northwest of Inverness, to Amund and Josephine (Sundgaarten) Paulson. She received her education in Inverness, graduating from high school in 1931.
On July 22, 1933, she married Harley Francis Freeman in Joplin. The couple resided in Inverness. Following their retirement in 1983, they moved to Great Falls. In 1986, they moved to Chester to live at the Sweetgrass Lodge. He died in 1989.
She was an active member of 4-H, serving as a leader, the Inverness P.T.A., and was a charter member/officer of the Inverness Home Demonstration Club. She was also a member of Bethel Church in Joplin serving as secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and Stewardship Secretary for the Luthern Church Womens Group. After moving to Chester she became active at Our Saviors Luthern Church and the Lydia Circle.
She enjoyed board games, collecting coins, crocheting, poetry, writing in her diaries, and performing and traveling with the Chuck Wagon Band playing the tea kettle. She also enjoyed baking, traveling and meeting new people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Douglas Harley Freeman in 1986.
Survivors include daughters, Darlene Lyle of Joplin and Charlotte DeMartini of Campbell, Calif.; a daughter-in-law, Linda Freeman of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Gertrude Bulman of Havre; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rockman Funeral Chapel of Chester.
