DONALD GEORGE

Donald F. George, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at his residence in Havre, of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Internment with Military Honors will be held at the Highland Cemetery.

George was born July 22, 1914, in Daze Mill, Wis., to Lewis and Maude (Stearns) George. He was a WWII Veteran and was stationed in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Austria.

On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Margaret Newbauer. The couple resided in Havre. He was employed by Gusto Distributors and Lees Tavern. After his retirement he worked for the City of Havre Parks Department.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was a member of the VFW and St. Judes Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret, and brothers, Fred and Ralph.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Cortese of Havre; sons, Leroy, Duane and Roger of Havre, David of Hingham and Bruce of Helena; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to The Gift of Life, Hospice or to the donors choice.
