A 70-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking in Gildford shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.
The investigating highway patrol officers report said the woman was walking west on the shoulder of Seventh Street in Gildford when she was struck by a westbound 1999 Ford van driven by an 87-year-old man. There was other traffic on the street at the time and the driver said he was unable to see the woman.
No injuries were reported in the accident, and alcohol and speed were not factors, according to the highway patrol.
The victims name is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
