Seaside run triumphant for Havreites

The Havre racers who teamed for the Hood to Coast relay run last weekend returned home after finishing in the top 25 percent.

The team finished the 195-mile relay of 36 legs in 24:58:17.

The race started at the Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood in Oregon. Running through small towns and the Columbia River basin, the race ended at Seaside, Ore.

We did awesome, said Lisa Hopewell, one of the runners on the team.

The Havre team finished 200 out of 972 teams. In its division, the team placed 34 out of 272 teams.

Each leg of the relay ran an average pace of 7 minutes, 30 seconds per mile.
