A walk-through to view the completed roof and other work at Lincoln-McKinley Elementary School is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Ric Floren, director of buildings and grounds, included a progress report on the Lincoln-McKinley project during his review of district-wide summer projects before the school board last Tuesday.
Other than about four or five hours of work devoted to finish work, the roof was completed on Tuesday. It had been scheduled for completion on Sept. 3, but work was delayed by unforeseen problems and sub contractors who were delayed.
The insulation installation was scheduled for completion last Wednesday, Floren said, as was the drainage on the roof. The rain gutters and other items removed for the roof construction were expected to be back in place by Friday.
The final cost of the project was about $1,000 less than the engineers original estimate.
Floren said another $252,500 worth of projects were completed at buildings and facilities throughout Havre over the summer:
Also at Lincoln-McKinley were: seven doors replaced for $11,000; gym wall repairs, $2,000; office tile, $1,000; one classroom worked, $1,000; exterior paint, $1,000; water pipe replacement, $13,000; three small offices carpeted, $1,000.
Devlin work included: south windows, $5,000; five exterior doors, $9,000; Cad 5 wiring, $10,000; tile, $2,000; exterior paint, $1,000, and irrigation repairs.
Highland Park work included: gym roof, $11,000; two exterior doors, $3,000; Cad 5 wiring, $10,000; tile teachers lounge, $1,000; and irrigation repairs.
Sunnyside summer projects included: window replacement, $12,000; two exterior doors, $3,000; and irrigation repairs.
Work at the middle school included: interior paint, $1,000; storage room work, $3,000; three carpeted areas, $45,000; sprinkler system at the track, $18,000; fence, $1,000; exterior storage shed, $1,000; and irrigation repairs.
Havre High projects were: loop duct heater, $13,000; boiler valves, $6,000; exterior doors, $15,000; electrical upgrade, $45,000; coaches office remodeling, $3,000; and irrigation repairs.
Two exterior windows were replaced on the second floor of Robins School for $4,000.
A lot of items are things you cant see, Floren said. We had a good crew that was asked to accomplish a lot in a short period of time.
