MSU-Northerns Ben Richmond placed first in the bareback riding in the opening season rodeo at Powell, Wyo., two weeks ago.
Richmond notched a score of 66 in the event. In the short go-round, he tallied a 57, good for sixth place and finished second in the average round.
In the bull riding competition, he tallied a 10th place finish with a 63, but withdrew early due to injury.
Freshman Scott Owens, a standout cowboy in the Havre High School rodeo club, finished with a fifth place in the bareback with a 54.
On the girls side, with only three girls on the team and two currently competing, Jamee Clark tallied a 10h place finish in the breakaway roping with a time of 4.7 seconds.
Last weekend at Glendive in the Dawson Community College rodeo, Owens finished sixth in the bareback with a score of 62.
Tanya Simmons, president of the rodeo club, tallied a third place mark in the goat tying, wrangling the animal in 8.8 seconds.
The final rodeo of the season will be held at Western Montana College in Dillon, Oct. 1-2.
Northern will host a rodeo in the spring.

The final rodeo for the Fall College season will be held at Western Montana College in Dillon on Oct. 1. Spring Rodeos will be MSU-Northern hosting a rodeo April 13-14, Montana State University-Bozeman, University of Montana and Miles Community College.
