ROY RIMMER
Roy Rimmer, 93, a resident of Havre, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, at his daughters resident in Kelso, Wash., of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Van Orsdel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
Rimmer was born Nov. 1, 1905, in Coberg, Ontario, Canada, to Jane and Joseph Rimmer. The family later moved to Lang, Saskatchewan and to Havre in 1915, where they farmed and dairied.
In 1931, he married Ruby Adams in Vancouver, Wash. The couple resided in Havre and farmed in the Havre area and North of Joplin until 1942, when he became a self employed independent trucker until his retirement in 1988 at the age of 82. After his retirement he resided in Havre.
He enjoyed traveling to visit his children, Sunday drives to the Bear Paw Mountains or to the farm North of Joplin with his wife and children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby in 1988, and a son, Harvey Joe Rimmer in 1948.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Bunton of Kelso, Wash.; a son, Ken Rimmer of Spokane, Wash.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Havre Public Library.
