GILDFORD Trevor Stehman, 19, died Monday, Nov. 7, 1999 north of Gildford due to a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Gildford High School Gymnasium with Pastor Eddie Fallo officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre.
Stehman was born Oct. 7, 1980 to Phil and Jan (Kingma) Stehman in Havre. He grew up on the family farm north of Gildford. He attended KG schools, graduating from high school with honors from the Class of 1999.
He was an excellent athlete and participated in cross country, track and field, basketball, winter sports, and summer water sports. While in high school, he was a member of the state championship cross country team three years running. He was also a member of the state championship basketball team his senior year at KG.
He liked to hunt, fish, collect watches, was a member of the Gildford Baptist Church and attended Gildford youth group.
He was preceded in death by his fiancee, Samantha Sammy Jo Molenda in 1999.
Survivors include his parents, Phil and Jan Stehman, Gildford; twin brother, Travis Stehman, Eugene, Ore.; a sister, Chelsie Stehman, Bozeman; maternal grandparents, George and Thressa Kingma, Bozeman; paternal grandfather, Robert Stehman, Gildford; paternal grandmother, Virginia Kallberg, Bellevue, Wash.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial in Stehmans honor will be established at a later date.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
