A man involved in an apparent domestic disturbance at a North Havre home Monday night probably would have preferred the couch to what he got.
A Hill County deputy responded to a disturbance call at the residence shortly after 10 p.m. Monday. The woman in the house asked the deputy to evict the man because she feared that he would destroy the house.
The man refused to leave at the deputys request, according to the deputys report, because he had no where to go and his name was on the rental agreement. The deputy contacted the landlord and learned that the mans name was not on the agreement.
The man continued to refuse to leave. The deputy took the mans house key and gave him permission to enter the garage to see if he could start his vehicle. The man promptly locked himself in the garage.
The deputy then advised the woman to stay inside the house for the night and left the man in the garage.
The deputy reportedly turned the mans house key over to dispatch for the woman to pick up later.
