Individual leaders make nice news stories, but when it comes to team championships, there is no I in the word team, as the saying goes.
Nikki Baltrusch leads the league in assists with 138, averaging 7.7 on the season. Alyssa Matter is ranked 10th, averaging 6.2 per game.
No Blue Pony is ranked in steals.
Tiffany Shrauger has 21 3-pointers on the season,while Alyssa Matter has 16. They are ranked fourth and eighth, respectively.
Shrauger is seventh in the league in scoring, with 215 points. She is ninth in the league in 3-point percentage and eighth in the league with a 66.7 free throw percentage.
Alyssa Matter in ninth in the league with 112 rebounds, averaging 6.2 per game. Matter also shoots 46 percent from the field, the ninth-best in the league.
Balanced team scoring must lend to the Blue Ponies success.
On Oct. 8 at Fort Benton and Oct. 29 at Havre, every Blue Pony scored.
At Fort Benton, Alyssa Matter, Baltrusch, Erin Patera and Jeri Matter tallied double figures.
Against Browning, Alyssa Matter, Shrauger and Jayla McPherson tallied double figures.
Most often, more than three players have notched double figures, creating a balanced offensive effort.
Brownings Laura Jo Kipp shoots 58.5 percent from the field to lead the division. She averages 19.2 points per game. Only slightly better, Cassie Chapman of Lewistown leads the league, averaging 19.6 points per game.
Kipp leads the league in rebounding and is third in steals, averaging 3.7 per game.
Teammate Kristin Madman leads the division in steals with 4.4 per game.
Dillon has three players in the top five in the league who can shoot the 3-pointer well.
Two of those three, Shana Probst and Katie Blades, have the best 3-point percentage.
