Liddle obituary

FRANK LIDDLE

CHINOOK -- Frank J. Liddle, 98, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at his residence on Cow Creek south of Chinook, due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. in the American Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Liddle was born June 16, 1901, to Harry S. and Margaret (Thornberg) Liddle, in his grandmother's home. He attended school at the East Chinook country school and Eastside Elementary School in Chinook. He moved to Cow Creek in 1913, and attended school there. He worked as a logger in Libby during the 20's and 30's. He later made irrigation ditches with teams of horses in the Chinook area and around Bynum with his father and crew. They went to Glacier Park and made the road from Babb to Many Glacier and part of the Going To The Sun Highway. During the winter they sawed wood for the Many Glacier Hotel.

He married Genevieve Dolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Bernard, and his wife, Genevieve.

Survivors include a son, Harry; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
