Even as Thanksgiving leftovers fill lunch boxes and evening gravies, a cadre of Havre volunteers are eagerly making preparations for the annual Community Christmas Dinner.
The dinner, featuring turkey and all the trimmings, will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. Christmas Day at the Eagles Club at the corner of First Street and Second Avenue in Havre.
"This is what Christmas is all about," organizers Bob and Judy Sivertsen said in a news release Sunday. "Thanks to so many volunteers, we are able to ensure many a better Christmas."
The dinner is for anyone who walks through the door at the Eagles Club, the Sivertsens said. Shut-ins, too, will be accommodated with home deliveries. The Havre Jaycees make the home deliveries.
For reservations for home deliveries, call the North Central Senior Citizens Center at 265-5464 or 2654-5465 before 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23.
Community Christmas Dinner donations are appreciated and can be sent to Bob Sivertsen at P.O. Box 2226, Havre, MT 59501. They can be dropped off the Eagles Club in Havre, too.
