MARJORIE GATZEMEIER

GREAT FALLS -- Marjorie Alice Kampf Gatzemeier, 63, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at a Great Falls hospital of cancer.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walt Kirkegaard officiating.

Gatzemeier was born April 23, 1936, in Havre, to Oscar and Margaret (Reyda) Kampf. She grew up south of Havre and graduated from Havre High School in 1954. She received her bachelor degree in business from Northern Montana College.

In 1956, she married Joseph W. Gatzemeier. The couple later divorced.

She worked for Mountain Bell, the Great Northern Railroad and Dr. Maynard before her marriage. After her marriage she was a homemaker for a number of years, helping raise several nieces and nephews. She moved to Great Falls in 1981, where she worked as a licensed real estate agent and a bookkeeper.

She was an accomplished seamstress, cook and baker. She was an artist and duplicate bridge player. She enjoyed gardening, canning, bowling, playing cards and visiting with her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include sons, Dean W. Gatzemeier of Teague, Texas., and Russell O. Gatzemeier of Lake Chalan, Wash.; her mother, Margaret Matulka of Havre; sisters, Carolyn Staples of Medesto, Calif., Florence Brown of Missoula, Joyce Malek of Great Falls, Beverly Little of Fresno, Calif., and Donna Knudson and Patty DeRosa of Havre; a special friend, Joe Rentmeister of Great Falls; and three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the American Red Cross.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
