HARLOWTON -- Evan L. Jacobson, 75, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, in Billing.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Perkins Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Powell officiating. Interment will be in Harlowton Cemetery.
Jacobson was born April 9, 1924, to John M. and Mary Leath (Shumaker) Jacobson in Two Dot.
He served in the U.S. Army from April 10, 1943, to Dec. 23, 1945, in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He received the Good Conduct Medal.
In 1953, he married Shirley Schultz of Harlowton. She died in 1979. He worked for the Burlington and Great Northern Railroads as a brakeman for 25 years.
On June 30, 1980, he married Clara Jo Widdicombe in Chinook.
Jacobson was a member of the Moose Lodge #1546 and the American Legion Post #15, of Harlowton. His hobbies included horses, packing into the mountains, and cribbage. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Pam Jacobson, and two brothers, Bill and Murph Jacobson.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Jo of Harlowton; sons, Perry Jacobson of Whitefish, Pat Jacobson of Cozad, Neb., and Bill Jacobson, Ft. Polk, La.; a daughter, Lora Peterson of Havre; a step-son, Kenny Widdicombe of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Jay Jacobson of Harbor City, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.
Perkins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
