SERGIOUS "SERG" WEAVER

Sergious "Serg" Weaver, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kenn Green officiating. A private interment with military honors will be held at Highland Cemetery.

Weaver was born May 21, 1918, in Opheim, to Otto and Mae (Huber) Weaver. He attended school in Opheim graduating from Opheim High School. After graduating he worked on various farms in the Opheim area. He entered the Navy Amphibious Forces in March of 1942. He served in the South Pacific, Solomon Islands and many other places during WWII. His rank was a Radioman First Class. After his discharge he went to work for Grogan-Robinson in Great Falls.

On March 8, 1947, he married Mardi (Margaret) Ellertson in Great Falls. The couple moved to Opheim to operate the Weaver farm. He later returned to Great Falls to work for Grogan-Robinson. The family moved to Havre in 1961, and he co-owned and managed the Havre Lumber yard for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, carpentry and small maintenance repair jobs. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club in Havre and the First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Mardi of Havre; a son, Lanni L. Weaver of Richland, Wash.; sisters, Marvel Fagan of Milton, Wash., and Marjorie Matchett of Chinook; a brother, Wally Weaver of Milford, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church or the Gift of Life.
