Both the boys' and the girls' 200 medley relay teams performed well at the C.M. Russell/Great Falls High Invitational Relay Meet Saturday.

"I thought both our boys' and girls' medley relays looked really well," said head coach Chris O'Donnell.

The girls' medley -- Erin Lynch, Cara Holmquist, Elizabeth Stuker, Maureen Porter -- finished eighth with a time of 2:04.7.

The girls knocked off one second from their time last weekend. They trimmed three seconds off their time from the same race at the relay meet last year.

The boys' team -- Ryan Bennett, Tyler Croft, Nick Porter, J.J. Albertson -- also placed sixth in the 200 medley. They finished with a time of 1:52.00.

The girls' 200 breast stroke notched the highest finish of the day.

Holmquist, Kathy McShane, Porter, and Stuker placed third with a time of 2:24.13 in the race.

"I was just plain tickled with them and that finish," O'Donnell said.

Havre finished eighth at the meet with 22 points -- two points short of a seventh-place finish. Last year, the team tallied just four points.

"It was a good improvement over last year," O'Donnell said. "Scoring 22 points in this meet was really good for us."

Kalispell won the meet with 152 points and Bozeman was second with 132 points.

The Ponies wrapped up the December schedule at the relay meet, and return to action on Friday, Jan. 7, at the Great Falls Duals.
