Soon-to-be college graduates at MSU-Northern are neck deep in finals, but when the dust clears, they will be sporting caps and gowns and become the proud owners of a degree.

According to information provided by the registrars office, graduates will hold a commencement rehearsal on Thursday, May 6, at 5 p.m. in the campus gym. The rehearsal should take no longer than an hour and prospective graduates are expected to attend.

The walk through is merely a preamble to the real thing. On Saturday, May 8, at 10 a.m., students, friends and the general public are invited to attend the graduation ceremonies, where the 1999 graduates will earn the fruits of their labor. A full academic procession will march and diploma cases will be issued. The actual diplomas will be mailed, and recipients should expect to receive them six to eight weeks following the ceremonies.

With the walk complete, a commencement brunch will be held in the ball room of the Student Union Building. Each graduate will receive two complimentary tickets and faculty will receive one complimentary ticket. More tickets can be purchased from the information desk during business hours. The cost is set at $10 for adults. Students, seniors and kids 18 and under can purchase a ticket for $5.50. Parties of 10 or more should reserve a table.

For ticket information call 265-3732. Questions about graduation can be answered by calling the registrars office.
