May the force be with you

May the force be with you when it comes to getting tickets to what seems to be the most anticipated, hoopla-surrounded flick of the century Star Wars; Episode One, The Phantom Menace.

Competing against theaters throughout Montana, Havre Cinemas landed the pre-quil to the modern epic, with a few promises to keep to Lucas Films.

We promised to keep the show for eight weeks, said Cinema Director Leon Eliason. And we had to have the proper sound system.

Requiring surround sound, the theater qualified and will give 168 showings of the film. Thats three shows a day, seven days a week, for eight weeks, as required. With 300 tickets available for each show, sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, the force may not be necessary, but rather, a patient demeanor.

There will be many opportunities to see it, Eliason said.

Star Wars, The Phantom Menace opens at Havre Cinema on Wednesday, May 19. Showtimes will be 4, 6:50 and 9:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $3.50 for the matinee, $6 for the evening show, $5 for students and seniors and $3.75 for underteens.

All said, the only question remains: How does the bright-eyed boy, Anakin Skywalker, end up on the dark side? Who is Queen Amidala? How did Luke and Lea come into being?

If you arent a Star Wars fan, Entrapment and Out of Towners will play opposite of what will likely be a packed theater.
