APRIL STAMPER
ROCKY BOY April Dawn Stamper, 22, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at her residence. Cause of death was due to an apparent self inflicted gun shot wound. She had been suffering from an illness for the last four years.
Wake and Funeral services were held at the Rocky Boy Catholic Church with Father Pete Guthneck officiating. Burial followed at the Rocky Boy Cemetery.
Stamper was born July 14, 1976, in Havre, to Edward and Wilma (WindyBoy) Stamper. She attended Rocky Boy schools and graduated from high school in 1994 serving as valedictorian of her class.
She was involved in sports, including volleyball, basketball, and cross country running. After her graduation she attended Arizona State College for one year and was recently attending Stone Child College.
Stamper enjoyed music, sports, driving her car, and playing the piano.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Firm Stamper, and grandmother, Rosie Gopher Windy Boy.
Survivors include her parents, Edward Stamper and Wilma Windy Boy of Rocky Boy; step-mother, Daisy Three Irons of Rocky Boy; four sisters, Autumn Stamper of Browning, Rosie Windy Boy of Rocky Boy, Melissa Kelleher of Missoula and Becky Jones of East Missoula; a brother, Edward Stamper Jr. of Rocky Boy; step-sisters, Hillary Corson of Missoula and Heather Corson of Billings; grandmother, Lena Parisian Stamper of Box Elder; grandfather, Roger Windy Boy of Rocky Boy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
