HAROLD MCFADDEN

LAKESIDE Harold Dean McFadden, 83, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at his residence of cancer.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Somers with the Rev. Wayne Pris officiating. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Cremation with burial will take place at a later date in Havre.

McFadden was born July 22, 1915, in Inverness, to George Emerson and Margaret Lafferty McFadden. He grew up in Inverness and received his education there.

On March 29, 1940, he married LaVerna Struck of Rudyard.

He served on many community boards including the Inverness School and St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rudyard as well as Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Somers. In 1960 he was elected Hill County Commissioner and served until 1972. He then was Chairman for 11 years. He spent his adult life farming until his retirement. He then moved to the Lakeside area.

He enjoyed working in his shop at the farm and lake. He also enjoyed dancing, visiting, and giving boat rides.

McFadden was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Teddy, brothers, Roy, Paul, and Ira, and sisters, Fay and Ina.

Survivors include his wife LaVerna of Lakeside; daughters, Betty Rae Mowen of Havre, and Paulette McFadden of Kalispell; a sister, Neta Marolick of Couer dAlene, Idaho; a sister-in-law, LaVern McFadden of Great Falls; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to the Lakeside QRU or the Memorial Fund at Eidsvold Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are by the Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
