Ruby Anderson, 86, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, at a Havre care center.
Prayer vigil services will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wed. at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert Grosch officiating.
Anderson was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Rice Lake, Wis., to Peter and Helen (Peters) Raskopf. The family homesteaded 40 miles north of Havre in 1916. She attended country school in North Havre, and high school at Havre High.
On June 6, 1930, she married Bert Anderson in Havre. The couple ranched in the Bear Paw Mountains on the P Cross Ranch. They also ranched at the Diamond Bar and in Harlem. They were employed on various farms and ranches owned by H. Earl Clack and the Signal Butte Ranch north of Havre.
In 1952, she became a licensed nurse and was employed at the Deaconess Hospital. She was also employed as an office nurse for E. M. Lovell. She retired from his office in the late 1970s.
Anderson enjoyed quilting, playing cards and horseback riding. She also enjoyed dancing, raising big cats and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bert in 1986, a daughter, Alice in 1938, and a son, Gilbert in 1993.
Survivors include a daughter, Lila Armstrong of Geraldine; a daughter-in-law, Betty Anderson of Harlem; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to MSU-Northern Nursing.
