Havre police are investigating two apparently related incidents involving handguns in the east end Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday, a man called police to report that he had been assaulted in the 900 block of Third Street. The victim told police that the assailant also pointed a handgun at him during the incident.
According to a police report, officers learned during their investigation that there had been a prior altercation earlier in the day. That altercation allegedly involved yet another handgun.
Officers subsequently searched two homes and found two handguns that they seized as evidence.
Officer interviews with seven people were forwarded to the county attorney for review and possible charges. The police investigation continues.
