Fans will be paying about 30 percent more to attend Havre High School athletic, music, drama and other activity events this year.
The gate costs went up 50 cents to $1 for all activities. They went from $3 for adults and senior citizens to $4, and from $2.50 for 9-12 students to $3 and from $1.50 for K-6 students to $2.
Activities Director Charlie Klimas pointed out that ticket prices have remained the same in the 15 years that hes been activities director.
The cost of student activity punch tickets and family passes will remain unchanged, with students forking over $14 for the year and family passes going for $75.
The cost of parking a car inside Blue Pony Stadium stays the same for now, but may go up in the near future.
Superintendent Kirk Miller recommended the increased gate fees to raise revenues to cover increased costs of out-of-town trips. MOA officials contract pay is going up this year, too, Klimas said.
District Clerk Ric Floren said the increase would probably amount to about $500 per football game and $250 per boys and girls basketball games. Those numbers would amount roughly to about $7,500 in increased revenues. He offered no estimates on increased revenues from wrestling, volleyball, drama, music and other activity gates.
Klimas noted that 14 of the 24 Class A schools in the state already charge $4 for adults and $3 for students. One school also charges $ and $3, but only for football. The other seven schools that responded to Klimas survey still charge $3 for adults and $2.50 for students, he said, but three of those are in the process of seeking increases to $4 and $3.
