Four males were arrested early Tuesday morning by officers and deputies after allegedly breaking in and burglarizing a Havre home.
Havre Police Captain Mark Stolen said the Hill County Sheriffs Department received a 911 call at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, reporting a break-in in progress at the 700 block of Sixth Avenue. The caller reported that he had one person held at gunpoint within the residence.
Deputies and officers arrived on scene within minutes and arrested one suspect on sight. A search of the area failed to turn up the remaining suspects, who were eventually arrested within an hour after the call was received.
We have four males in custody, Stolen said. Three are juveniles, the other is a 19-year-old male.
Though the motive is not yet known, Stolen said a report was filed Tuesday morning stating that the victim of the burglary had allegedly assaulted one of the suspects the night before. However, Stolen said, the incidents have not been connected and the investigation continues.
Because of the prior assault, it could be said that both parties knew each other, Stolen said. However, both offenses are being viewed as separate incidents.
Stolen said that nobody was hurt during the burglary or apprehension, and one weapon was reported stolen from the scene.
Thats what we have right now, Stolen said.
