4-H beef, hogs, sheep go to market

When the gavel fell for the final time at the conclusion of Sundays 4-H market animal sale, local businesses and individuals had purchased 43 beef, 25 lambs, and 47 pigs. In addition, some of the animals were donated to worthy causes and then resold. In all, gross receipts for the sale totaled more than $99,000.

The sale average for the pigs was $1.75 per lb.; average for sheep was $2.37 per lb., and market beef was $1.26 per lb.

Gary and Leos IGA purchased Kelsey Smiths Grand Champion lamb for $2.25 per lb. They also purchased Katie Siebrasses steer for $1.25 per lb; Jenny Dibblees market pig for $1.60 per lb; and at $.85 per lb, a lamb which had been donated to the 4-H Foundation. Their total contribution to the sale was $2.141.10.

Bear Paw Livestock purchased Clint Bradburys Reserve Champion lamb for $2.25 per lb.

Joe Pruys had the honor of purchasing the highest selling lamb when he paid $3.15 per lb for Tiffany Spinners lamb. Kacy Herrons lamb, at $2.90, was the second highest priced lamb. It was purchased by H-O Parts Plus.

Central Machine & Welding bought Adam Johnsons Reserve Champion pig for $1.75 per lb and Brett Renakers pig for $1.40 per lb.

Ben Petersons pig, at $2.80, was the highest selling pig. It sold to Cenex/Harvest States Elevator. Cenex/Harvest States Supply purchased Tiffany Spinners pig for $1.70 per lb and Royce Verploegens steer for $1.35 per lb.

Kevin Velks pig was the next highest selling pig. It sold to Richard Pollington and Lowell Johnson for $2.70 per lb.

Bear Paw Livestock, Normans Ranch and Sportswear, and Barry & Ginger Zanto purchased Casey Petersons Grand Champion steer for $1.60 per lb. Cliff Springers Reserve Champion Steer sold to Flynn Realty for $1.50 per lb.

Golden Triangle Seeds, Meissner Tractor, and Gary & Leos IGA were the high volume buyers at the sale. Each of them purchased four animals.

Golden Triangle Seeds purchased Darren Stevensons steer for $1.55 per lb; Clint Bradburys pig for $1.50 per lb; Deven Donovens pig for $1.80 per lb; and Heather Pimleys lamb for $2.00 per lb. The purchases totaled $2,911.75.

Meissner Tractor purchased Cassie Johnsons steer for $1.00 per lb, Kile Patricks lamb for $2.20 per lb, Ryan McIntoshs pig for $1.80 per lb, and Rose Daveys pig for $1.20 per lb. Meissners total contribution was $2,162.20.

Farmers Union Oil, Kremlin/Gildford was the high dollar buyer at the sale. They purchased Abby Johnsons Grand Champion pig for $2.45 per lb. and bought Tiffany Melbys steer for $2.00 per lb. Farmers Union Oil, Kremlin/Gildfords total dollar contribution the sale was $3,245.35.

Northern Montana Health Care was the second highest dollar buyer at the sale. They bought Nikki Grants steer for $1.15 per lb and Laura McClenahans steer for $1.25 per lb. Their total dollar contribution to the sale was $3,102.25.

Havre Ford was the third highest dollar buyer at the sale. They spent $3,101.90 to purchase Craig Kallenbergers steer at $1.30 per lb, Amy McClenahans steer at $1.05 per lb, and Reece Duncans lamb at $2.20 per lb. Havre Fords total contribution to the sale was $3,101.90.

McIntosh Seeds purchased Logan Grants steer for $1.20 per lb, Kallie Larsons lamb for $2.50 per lb, Levi Morks pig for $1.20 per lb. Pacific Steel & Recycling paid $2.00 per lb for Shane Rices lamb.

PJs Restaurant and Casino bought Desiree Vaughns lamb for $2.60 per lb and Jessica Nolans lamb for $2.70 per lb.

Ezzies Wholesale, Inc purchased Christi Bradburys lamb for $2.40 per lb and John Owens steer for $1.10 per lb. Taco Johns purchased Anthony Baileys lamb for $2.50 per lb.

Donoven Trucking purchased Neal Duncans lamb for $2.10 per lb and Frank Richter purchased Joshua Lybecks lamb for $2.10 per lb.

Leroy & Clarence Keller purchased Ruth Barkleys lamb for $2.10 per lb and Miller Simmentals purchased Aubrie Baileys lamb for $2.00 per lb.

The Joe & Roseann Marino and Michael & Shelly Nolan families purchased Shannon Bergrens lamb for $2.75 per lb and Jessica Chagnons pig for $1.50 per lb. The Havre Space Center purchased Jennifer Dibblees lamb for $2.70 per lb.

First Security Bank of Havre purchased Jesine Munsons lamb for $2.20 per lb, Jenny Gerkys pig for $1.80 per lb, and Landen Grants steer for $1.15 per lb.

Derek & Cindy Bailey purchased Rebecca Barkleys lamb for $2.10 per lb and the Havre Lions Club bought Kyra Kaerchers lamb for $2.45 per lb.

Dr. Dorothy Bradbury bought Melissa Vaughns lamb for $2.55 per lb and Hofeldt Feed Lots bought Nikki Dibblees lamb for $2.20 per lb. Mandy Rambos lamb was purchased by Theresa Larson and Henry Hamblock for $2.30 per lb.

Curtis VandeSandt sold his steer to Coast to Coast for $1.20 per lb and Klabzuba Oil & Gas, Inc paid $1.35 per lb for Andee Petersons steer. Riley Smith sold his steer to Farm Credit Services for $1.05 per lb.

United Agri Products purchased Lauren Kannings steer for $1.25 per lb and Evelyn Patera paid $1.30 for Matt Boyums steer. Laine Lybeck sold her steer to Fleet Wholesale Supply Co. for $1.25 per lb.

Albertsons paid $1.20 per lb to purchase Brent Petersons steer and Norwest Bank - Havre bought Mike Jurenkas steer for $1.55 per lb. Christi Bradbury sold her steer to Erickson-Baldwin Insurance and Vic Velk for $1.50 per lb.

Tilleman Motor Co. bought Neal Duncans steer for $1.25 per lb and, for $1.50 per lb, bought a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund. Valley Furniture paid $1.35 per lb for Mike Hutchinsons steer and Bill Siebrasse sold his steer to Triangle Telephone for $1.35 per lb.

J&S Livestock bought Jessica Chagnons steer for $1.10 per lb and Kevin Velk sold his steer to Bear Paw Veterinary Service for $1.50 per lb. Brian Gregoires steer sold to Golden Belle Beauty Salon for $1.35 per lb.

Bob and Georgia Larson bought Stacey Siebrasses steer for $1.40 per lb and Chuck Vaughn Trucking paid $1.00 per lb for Beth Boyums steer. Mike Duncans steer sold to T & T Equipment Repair for $1.10 per lb.

Wally Duchscher Insurance Agency bought Travis Velks steer for $1.00 per lb and Brett Michels sold his steer to Pacific Steel and Recycling for $.85 per lb.

Several animals were purchased and donated to various organizations and worthy causes.

Lee Morse paid $2.50 per lb for a pig which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund. Hinebauch farms paid $.75 for a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renacker fund.

Giles Gregoire paid $1.50 per lb for a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund and Curt and Mary Kay Rambo paid $1.25 per lb for a lamb which had been donated to the Hill County 4-H Foundation.

The Blaine County Journal paid $1.25 per lb for a lamb which had been donated to the Hill County 4-H foundation. Paul Sohm farms purchased, for $1.25 per lb, a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund.

Coast to Coast purchased, for $.85 per lb, a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund and a lamb which was donated to the Kitty Keepers Shelter sold to Milk River Radiology for $.85 per lb.

Lambs which were donated to the Hill County 4-H Foundation were purchased by Cliff Springer for $.75 per lb and Charles Manual for $.95 per lb.

Alec and Karen McIntosh purchased, for $1.25 per lb, a lamb which had been donated to the Pam Renaker fund. They then donated the lamb to the soup kitchen.

A steer which had been donated to the United Way was purchased by Bill Henry Construction and Ag-Wise - Kremlin for $.85 per lb.

The Pam Renaker fund thus received $1,553.65 in donations and $920.57 was donated to the Hill County 4-H Foundation. Kitty Keepers Shelter received $119.00 and United Way received $1,049.75.
