Havres blood drawing came up short of its September quota Monday, but not for lack of effort, according to drive organizers.
We had 115 people register, drive chairwoman Karen Golden said this morning, and had 100 units.
Had all of the donors been healthy enough to donate at the time, the drive would have exceeded its 110-unit quota by five units of the gift of life.
The next drive sponsored in Havre by the Bears Paw Chapter of the American Red Cross is scheduled for Nov. 8. It will be held as usual from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church on Fifth Avenue.
Golden will continue to be the Havre contact for the drive, but advance calls to prospective donors will be made out of the organizations Great Falls office.
The Great Falls office is going to start doing the calling, Golden said. (Elaine Hartman of Great Falls) said thats what they have people hired there for.
Havre is one of only two cities in Montana that has done its own calling, and now were going to have them do it for us. But if someone needs to call me, Im still the Havre contact.
Golden can be reached at 265-6963 and the Great Falls blood services toll free number is 1-800-448-3543.
