TURNER June Annabelle Chausse Tooke, 79, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999.
Funeral services were held this morning at the Church of the Nazarene located in Havre. Burial services will be held 2 p.m. today at the Turner Cemetery.
Tooke was born June 13, 1920, in Belle Fourche, S.D., to Veli and Mamie Chausse. She lived in Piniele and attended country school until moving to Turner in 1933.
In December of 1938, she married Robert Tooke. The couple farmed and ranched in Turner until they retired to Havre in the early 1970s. She then resided in Havre until moving to the Good Samaritan Rest Home in Malta in 1993.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She spent many years mending, cleaning and ironing used clothing and blankets to send to foreign missions. She wrote poems and enjoyed music, playing the piano, and humming.
Tooke was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, a sister, Evelyn, a brother, Vernon, and a great-granddaughter, Kellie Fehrs.
Survivors include a son, Jim Tooke of Turner; a daughter, Lonna Cady of Libby; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the First Nazarene Church of Havre or to the Good Samaritan Rest Home in Malta.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
