ERWIN MILLER

CHINOOK Erwin P. Miller, 96, former owner and cattle manager for the Miller Brothers Ranch, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at a local care center of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the American Lutheran Church in Chinook. Burial will follow at Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Miller was born Oct. 21, 1902, in Chinook, to John and Sophia (Hofeldt) Miller. He attended schools in Chinook and graduated from Chinook High School. He attended the University of Montana for two years. He was involved in the family Miller Brothers Ranch until selling out in 1958.

On Jan. 16, 1950, he married Marcia Lancaster in Missoula. The couple resided on the Hansen Ranch before moving to Chinook in 1959.

Miller had been involved in cattle operations for a number of years. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the Chinook Masonic Lodge #50 A.F. & A.M.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1997, three brothers, Leslie, Henry and Howard Miller and a sister, Dorothy Schnee.

Survivors include a sister Marjorie Featherstone of Ventura, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Blaine County Ambulance I or the Gift of Life Housing in Great Falls.
