Two Havre men were jailed in Chinook on numerous drug-related charges after they were stopped Oct. 10 for driving erratically in a vehicle with no front bumper and faulty turn signals.
Renner Cleavenger, 23, and Darrell Cremer, 37, both of Havre are charged with criminal possession of dangerous drugs with intent to distribute, criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cremer also was charged with driving under the influence of dangerous drugs, driving a vehicle in an unsafe condition, driving a vehicle without a front bumper, driving a vehicle without turn signals in working order, failing to have proof of liability insurance, and a seat belt violation.
Cleavenger also was charged with violating conditions of his probation.
The two men were stopped by a Blaine County deputy and Montana Highway Patrol officer west of Chinook shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 10.
The officers found suspected drugs in the vehicle and notified the Tri-Agency Drug Task Force. Agents with the task force and an adult probation officer responded to Chinook. A search warrant was obtained and the vehicle was searched. A larger quantity of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found in the vehicle.
Follow-up investigation is be conducted by the task force, Blaine County Sheriffs Office and Montana Highway Patrol.
Cleavenger remains jailed on $5,000 bond, but Cremer posted his bond and was released.
