Boots Gifford, managing editor of The Havre Daily News, is resigning her post to take a job as managing editor of the Estes Park Trail-Gazette in Estes Park, Colo.
This is an excellent opportunity for me and Im excited about the change, Gifford said. I will miss all of the people I have worked with and our friends in Havre and across the Hi-Line.
Gifford said she will start her new job Nov. 29 and her last day at the Daily News will be Friday, Nov. 19.
Harvey Brock, publisher of The Havre Daily News, said Gifford will be missed.
Boots has done a wonderful job and will really be missed, Brock said. Beginning as the sports editor, she most recently worked as the managing editor and instituted in much of the papers redesign and expanded use of full color.
We wish her well.
Giffords husband, Jay, will continue to operate the family business, Gifford Refrigeration, through early spring before moving to Estes Park.
Estes Park is located 60 miles northeast of Denver and is the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The Trail-Gazette is owned by the Denver Post.
