First quarter concludes at Havre Public Schools

By Kirk Miller

First quarter has come to an end and grade reports should be home.

Parent/Teacher Conferences have begun and will continue through next week. Please check the schedule of conferences and plan to attend. The partnership between the home and school is extremely important in the development of our children. Parent/Teacher Conferences are an excellent opportunity to discuss your childs progress with their teacher.

Here is an update on current happenings:

Did you know ...

Havre elementary schools have completed the internal wiring for computers and information networks. The wiring process is under way at Havre Middle School and will begin at Havre High School after the first of the year. The federal E-Rate program has helped our school district fund the wiring process. Ultimately, this process will provide access to an abundance of resources for students and teachers.

Activities in our schools are having an excellent fall season. As the fall concerts, performances, and championships draw near, I would like to thank the parents of our students for helping them make the commitment to be involved. I would also like to thank the community for your great support of our student activities. Your attendance at our games, concerts, plays, and activities is much appreciated by our students.

Remember the weather is changing, so please make sure your children are dressed for the weather when they leave for school.

The Board of Trustees will meet on November 9 at Havre Middle School to discuss progress on the District Educational Work Plan. Progress is good. All board meetings are open to the public.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
