LENA LIPP
Lena L. Lipp, 74, resident of Havre and former resident of Hingham, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, at her residence of natural causes.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the graveside services at the Olympic Room at the Duck Inn.
Lipp was born March 9, 1925, in Newport, Ky., to Marion and Bertha (Grone) Meadows. She attended grade school in Ashland, Ky., and moved with the family to Richmond, Va., where she graduated from John Marshall High School. After graduation she went to work as General Omar Bradley's private secretary at the Pentagon during WWII.
On Nov. 13, 1946, she married Mathew A. Lipp in Hingham. The couple resided there.
She enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. Her hobbies included collecting beanie babies, quilting and embroidery. She also enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Raymond, Bill, Lawrence Edward and Carl Clifford Meadows.
Survivors include her husband, Mathew A. Lipp of Havre; daughters, Barb Carr of Kennewick, Wash., Kathy Boucher of Rudyard, Sandy Lipp of Havre, Karla Gilson of Camas, Wash., and Terry Shaw of Austin, Texas; a son, Tom Lipp of Helena; sisters, Charlotte Chvilicek of Roseburg, Ore. and Mary Hamilton of Richmond, Va.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
