Lexi Ranes and Andrea Knox have signed letters of intent to play volleyball for the MSU-Northern Skylights next fall, announced head coach Lisa Handley.

Ranes, a 1999 graduate of Havre High School, will red-shirt her freshman year.

"Lexi is a motivated and hard-working player with a great wrist snap," Handley said.

Ranes, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, was a member of the back-to-back state Class A Blue Pony volleyball team, and was a starter on the championship team her senior year.

Knox, a 6-foot-1 middle hitter from Alturas, Calif., has also signed for the Skylights.

Knox was named first and second team all-league at Modoc High School in her hometown.

As a junior in 1998, Knox was an all-around player for their state championship team in basketball.

"I am excited that Andrea chose to come to MSU-Northern over Missoula and Billings," Handley said. "She hits and blocks the ball well, she has a ncie arm swing and, already, has the capability of hitting around the block."

Knox chose to come to Havre via a recommendation from a high school teacher who graduated from MSU-Northern, Handley said.
