It's an opportunity to shine again on the court, playing a sport they love. It's a new beginning with new players during just one weekend. It's an end, to some, to a basketball career.
The top senior girls' basketball talent heads to Billings to play at the Treasure State Classic Dec. 9-11.
Top senior all-stars from throughout Montana were selected to play at the tournament.
Tiffany Shrauger and Erin Patera, standouts on the regular-season conference champion and first-place Central A Division Havre Blue Pony team, will be playing on the Class A Central team.
Amanda Bakkedahl of Lewistown, who finished second at the State Class A tournament, Kristin Madman of Browning, who finished fourth at the state tournament, and Crystal Marshall, Anna Alberi, Shana Probst, and Jennifer Kearns of Dillon, and Sarah Thatcher of Butte Central are also on the roster.
Kami Kennedy, a graduate of KG High School and head coach of the Dillon Beavers, will coach the team.
The A Central team will kick off the tournament against the C East team at 2:30 p.m. at the Castle Rock Middle School gymnasium.
The C East team boasts two players from the State Class C champion Richey Royals in Kelly Schultz and Melissa Colbert. Both were first-team all-state selections.
