The MSU-Northern Foundation recently announced that it has received the largest annual fund gift to the university by Edwin Wagner.
Wagner last week donated an endowed gift valued at $305,625. For the first year, he designated that the earnings from this endowment be divided equally to support the Chancellor's Leadership Fund and scholarships for incoming students in technology disciplines.
Wagner attended MSU-N in 1949 and 1950 then transferred for a degree in accounting. He was employed by Sears as an accountant and auditor.
Wagner said that this was the most rewarding thing that he has done and was thrilled to begin a great relationship with MSU-N.
"We are most grateful to Mr. Wagner and appreciative of his generosity," Chancellor Mike Rao said. "We hope that this important gift will stimulate the interest of others who have been considering gifts to the university campus."
