CHESTER -- Cora Ida Brandt, 75, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at a Chester care center.

Funeral services were held this morning at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chester. Graveside services were held at the Rudyard Cemetery.

Brandt was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Richardton, N.D., to Louis and Laura (Krueger) Brandt. The family moved to Montana in 1930. She attended schools in Inverness and Rudyard graduating from Rudyard High School in 1943.

She and her mother owned and operated the Grand Hotel in Rudyard from 1944 to 1950. She worked as a clerk for Sanvik Brothers. She moved to Havre in 1950 where she was employed at Buttrey Foods. She moved to California with her brother and mother 10 years later where she was employed as an office manager for the W.T. Grant Company for 15 years. She later was employed at Target Corporation as a sales auditor until her retirement in 1988. She then moved to Grass Valley, Calif. until moving to Sweetgrass Lodge in Chester in 1996.

She was baptized and confirmed Lutheran in Rudyard and transferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Chester. She enjoyed reading her Bible and completing private Bible studies. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle and demon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Harold and George Brandt and a sister, Ruth Nelson.

Survivors include brothers, Edwin Brandt of Seattle, Wash., Elmer Brandt of Central Point, Ore., and Eugene Brandt of Chester; sisters, Eunice Robertson of Pacifica, Calif., Lauretta "Sally" Wodarz of Chester and Lydia Hansen of Rudyard; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
