LESTER PASMA

LEWISTOWN Lester Earl Pasma, Jr., 71, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at his sisters residence due to cancer.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church. Inurement with military honors by Fergus American Legion Post #16, will be at Lewistown City Cemetery.

Pasma was born Dec. 29, 1927, in Havre, to Lester Earl and Francis (Inman) Pasma. He received his education at Cleveland.

He served in the U.S. Navy from February 1944 to November 1947.

On March 29, 1957, he married Elva Jean Newman, in Lewistown.

Pasma worked as a mechanic for the Burlington Northern Railroad until his retirement in 1989.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva, in 1996, his parents, and a brother-in-law, Dick Plovanic.

Survivors include daughters, Penny Mumper of Missoula, and Patty Pasma of Lewistown; sons, John Pasma of Helena, Ron Pasma of Kennewick, Wash., Tom Pasma of Bow, Wash., and Bob Pasma of Fort Shaw; a sister, Helyn Plovanic of Lewistown; and 12 grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Central Montana, 629 N.E. Main, Lewistown.
