EDNA AZURE
CHINOOK Edna M. Azure, 72, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Vigil and rosary services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gabriels Catholic Church with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook.
Azure was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Malta to Edward and Josephine (Gardner) Gardipee. She attended school at Snake Butte School and high school at Chinook. She was employed in restaurants in the area for a number of years including the Bar X Cafe.
On Jan. 2, 1946, she married Edward Azure in Chinook. The coupled resided in Chinook and Anaconda. He died in 1986.
She has been a resident of Havre for the past twenty years. She was employed at the Havre Senior Center until recently due to health.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son Gary in 1989.
Survivors include a son, Larry Azure of Havre; a brother, Edward Gardipee of Shelby; sisters, Ruby McGillivray and Alvina Arnold both of Harlem; five grandchildren, and two great granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Milo Sonstens of Havre.
Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
