Solomon crowned queen

Denali Solomon was crowned queen at the District 3 high school rodeo held June 5 and 6 in Belt.

Solomon, the daughter of Gail and Ted Solomon of Havre, will compete in the state competition in Miles City, June 23-26, during the state high school rodeo finals.

Kallee Johnson, of Fort Shaw, was runner-up in the competition. Other competitors were Lauren Watson, Geyser, Stephanie Hueth, Great Falls, and Sadie Johnson, Browning.

The girls were judged on horsemanship, speech, modeling, written test, personal interview and impromtu question.

Soloman went on to win the barrel racing event with an average time on the two days of 36.6.

She ran an 18.67 to take third and an 18.02 to take first over the two days.

In the girls all-around, Solomon finished in third place with 20 points.
