ERROL RILEY

Errol Riley, 61, died July 7, 1999, at a Phillips County retirement center due to complications with cancer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 1999, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Malta, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at the family home on Wagner Road.

He was born to Thomas Franklin and Mary Riley in March 1938 in Goldendale, Wash. He married in April 1967 in Portland and started Errol Riley Trucking and Construction.

His new family moved to Malta, where in 1994, he took over management of the Loomix division at the Northern Agricultural Service. The most enjoyable part of his job is said to have been visiting the farms and ranches and checking on cows and visits from his customers.

Riley always had time to be a neighbor of a friend, and he opened his home to anyone who needed a helping hand. He and his wife, besides having kids of their own, adopted two kids from World Vision, and he gave a home to Vietnam Vet who was learning a trade. He worked with pee wee and junior rodeo kids.

He is survived by wife, Betty Riley of Malta, sons Charles Parks of Clackamas, Ore., and Ryan Riley of Malta; daughter Rachel Mortenson of Dodson; three sisters, Zelda Jean Worrell of Yakima, Wash., Veryl Gibson of Portland, Ore., Donna Peterson of Milwaukie, Ore.; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
