GORDON BUTCHER
CHINOOK Gordon Brent Butcher, 49, longtime area businessman, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, in Chinook.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chinook Presbyterian Church.
Butcher was born May 28, 1950, in Havre, to Gordon Dale and Lois (Wilson) Butcher. He attended schools in Chinook and graduated in 1968 from Chinook High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in October of 1969. He served in Germany and Vietnam. After his discharge in 1972, he returned to Chinook.
On March 18, 1975, he married Glenda Hokana in Bozeman. They later divorced. He was employed as a driller for Billmayer Drilling in Kalispell and lived in Big Fork. In 1987, he purchased the family business, The Pastime and Steakhouse.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1986.
Survivors include sons, Chad Butcher and Shayne Butcher of Chinook; his mother, Lois Butcher of Chinook; brothers, Bruce Butcher of Chinook, Rob Butcher of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ron Butcher of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Brenda St. Clair of East Helena, and Julie Finley of Chinook.
Memorials will be used for his sons educations or can be given to the donors choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
