Dodson got the win over Rocky Boy Thursday night 63-43.
It was all Dodson from the start as it jumped out to a 21-8 lead over the Morning Starts. By halftime, Dodson was up 34-17. Rocky Boy outscored Dodson 11-9 in the third quarter but cut very little off the lead. Dodson held on through the fourth to get the win. The Morning Stars were led by Rose Crebs, who had 18 points.
In 9C District action Friday night, the Big Sandy Pioneers blasted Box Elder 98-55.
The Pioneers used a 28-6 lead after one quarter to put the game in the bag early. At halftime, Big Sandy had stretched its lead to 49-22. Big Sandy outscored the Bears 19-17 in the third and cruised through the fourth quarter to get the win.
Amy Silvan had 27 points and Tiffany Jamison had 22 to lead the Pioneers. Box Elder was topped by Sommer Rosette who scored 20 points.
Chester slammed Brady 74-18 Friday night.
The Coyotes ran out to a 16-4 lead after one quarter of play. By the mid-way point, Chester had mounted a 38-8 lead. Chester gave up only 10 points in the second half as they cruised to the win. Jamie Graham had 18 points and Carlene Jensen had 16 to lead the balanced Coyotes scoring attack.
Dutton got the best of J-I Friday night 51-45.
The Rams had a 10-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Cardinals played tough in the second and had the one-point lead at the half, 19-18. It was all Dutton in the third quarter as it outscored J-I 20-7. In the fourth J-I tried to get back by outscoring the Cardinals 20-12, but it was too little too late.
Angela Peek led the way with 17 points.
The Blue Sky Eagles edged Sunburst 42-40 Friday night.
Sunburst jumped out to a 12-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Both teams scored six points in the second quarter, leaving the Refiners on top 18-14. Blue Sky exploded out of the locker room and outscored Sunburst 15-10 to take the lead. The Eagles used a 13-12 margin in the fourth to stay on top for the win. Carlye Redding led the way for Blue Sky with 18 points.
Highwood nipped Rocky Boy in non-league action Friday night 52-51.
The Morning Stars took a 14-8 lead after one quarter of play. At halftime, Rocky Boy had pushed its lead out to 29-17. Highwood cut the Rocky Boy lead down to 42-32 at the end of three. In the fourth the Mountaineers outscored Rocky Boy 20-9 to get the win.
Farrah Small led the Morning Stars in scoring with 15 points.
Chester ripped through Heart Butte Saturday night 88-37 in District 10-C action.
The Coyotes ran out to a 26-6 lead and never looked back. In the second, Chester kept the pressure on and led 41-17 at the half. Chester rocked in the third as it scored 28 and held the Warriors to eight points. Chester cruised through the fourth to get the win. Deven Lalum led the way for Chester with 18 points.
Box Elder edged Dodson Saturday night 40-38.
Dodson opened up a 9-5 lead at the end of one against the defending State C champs. Box Elder stormed back in the second to take a 20-14 halftime lead. Dodson fought back in both the third and fourth quarters, outscoring the Bears but they did not have enough to come back. Rosette again led Box Elder in scoring with 13 points.
Blue Sky rolled by J-I Saturday night 64-45.
The Eagles had a slight 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second, Blue Sky turned up its game and led at the half 29-21. Both teams scored 13 third quarter points, but the Eagles held the Rams to just nine fourth quarter point to seal the win.
Peek had a game-high 23 points to lead the Rams, while Redding scored 16 for the Eagles in the win.
Two tough tests await the Eagles this weekend as they face defending state champs Box Elder at home and then play No. 1 ranked Chester away.
